The Oorja Solar Car team is an independent, student-led organization that operates on the campus of Model Engineering College, India. With a large and active student body, the team works during the college year to design and construct solar vehicles, which are used in STEM outreach, and to compete in national solar car competitions which include the Surya Kranti Solar Car Race India
SuryaKranti is a project undertaken by Vijnana Bhrati, a nation wide movement for the popularisation of India's rich scientific heritage. It will take the lead to coordinate different similar organisations to form a consortium to execute the project.
